Sunday School Update
In January, students read Matthew 1-3. Students have briefly learned about some key details on the Gospel of Matthew, such as: genre, authorship, date, theme, audience, and purpose. Throughout January, students have learned about the birth of Jesus Christ and a few of the events that took place before his ministry.
The purpose of reading through Matthew is to teach students about Jesus Christ’s actions, words, example, and purpose on earth. The Gospel of Matthew provides a descriptive, genuine, and well-written portrayal/narrative of Jesus Christ’s life. In order for people to have a relationship with God, they must know and believe in Jesus Christ. I desire for Clarkson Baptist Church’s youth to have a rich, biblically rooted understanding of who Jesus Christ is and how he has radically transformed salvation for us.
Sunday School Reading Goals for February
- Matthew 5 Part 1 (vss. 1-20)
- Matthew 5 Part 2 (vss. 21-48)
- Matthew 6 Part 1 (vss. 1-15)
- Matthew 6 Part 2 (vss. 16-34)
SIDE-NOTE: Wednesday nights are our highest attendance days! Fellowship and focusing on God’s Word are two important factors in our youth’s teenage years. As I encourage students to attend Sunday school and worship on Sunday mornings, I also encourage parents/guardians to gently motivate their youth to attend church on Sunday mornings. I also encourage parents/guardians to attend church. We would love to see families unite through fellowship at Clarkson Baptist Church!
Please be in prayer for our students’ desire to attend church consistently.
